Hi, I know how you feel. I have just rebranded and had to remove vinyl off three vans which took 2 days three techs. Apply heat with a hair drier first for 5- 10 secs then peel slowly. We were supplied with a commercial steamer but a hand drier will do the trick or you could leave in the sun for 20 min. I think the ticker over top would look cool if you searched for a cool one on trade me and pimp out your ride a bit, I am doing that at the moment to my ride. This comment for future sticker removers.
Ie, it's not a race report rather a bodywork issue.
Sensible budget repair idea there. Or he could just buy a new bike, go into debt and encourage growth in the economy.
Just put a matching sticker of the other side and make sure the glue/stickers used wont further affect the paint.
It would be interesting to know just what sort of bike/age/paint job it had.
For what it's worth, that's what I thought. I've never hesitated throwing them on since it's a crazy thin vinyl and it peels off real easy on the Daytona.
The only asshole I have is with the stickers that go on the front saying what date you're doing. Cheap papery buggers that are an absolute prick to get off. Even with water.
I might actually stick race tape down first for that one (bloody good idea that schrodingers cat).
If there's any glue residue or left over sticker just get some kerosene on a rag and it'll come off no problems. Job done.
