Superbike school stickers and paint woes

hey folks. i did the CSS couple of weekends ago and it was great. due to work etc, ive not ridden since i got home, ( and before all the smart arse comments come, yes i did ride home with the sticker on, as i forgot about it)then the next day i went to take the side sticker off me bike and the side sticker has pulled the paint off the fairing.

has anyone else had this happen?

and what did you do to repair it?

Remove fairing. Take to an automotive spray painter. Pay your money and voila! Fixed!

I dunno if they have a branch near you over there in the far east, but here in The Tron, I use an outfit called "Touch-Up Guys".

They operate a mobile retouching service and I have used them several times with excellent results. And they do not cost an arm and a leg.

    Highly recommended.

    Apply race tape. Apply sticker.
    Ride
Remove race tape with sticker stuck to race tape.
Save money on un-necessary paint repair.
    Spend money saved on beer
    Repeat

Also know as gaffer tape or (incorrectly) as duck tape.

Most commonly known as duct tape or generically as fibre reinforced adhesive tape.

With respect, if you don't know what it is I don't think you should go anywhere near a race track...

with respect, i know what gaffa tape is but have never heard it called race tape before.

and when i attend a bike training day ran by experts, i do what they advise me to do , so i stuck the sticker on my fairing as they told me to.

it pulled the paint off my fairing, so im asking for some advice, not smart arse comments asshole

That's a lot of arse and asshole in that sentence. I suggest you apply beer as previously suggested

    (PS - apply to mouth)

How bad is it? Pics? I wonder if the paint would have come off if you'd removed it that day. 2 weeks of the adhesive chemicals eating at the paint prolly didn't help.

sounds like you had shite paint. I usually soak the stickers with water and detergent then rub them off.

Yep, sounds like shite paint to me too, I left mine on at least a couple of days and they came off no worries. Same with the mrs R6.
