Brake Question

how do you remove the brake pads? I know it is a silly question, but I just can't seem to figure it out.

The pads on the piston side is easy to remove, it is the other pad. It slides on to rods on of the rods is FIXED and the other isn't, but I can't figure out how to remove that rod. Suggestions? It is the bottom bolt I am talking about..

As you can see on the bottom bolt, there is a rubber cap, when open that cap, there is a tread, but there is no 'head' so I can't unscrew it or remove it. Maybe looking for the wrong thing.. confused.

Take the whole brake off then look at the back you'll see that there are Allenkeys which hold the pads in place undo these & pull them out & the pads will drop out . Do the reverse to put back . Check rods for wear give very light sand paper & clean any brake dust from the brake unit & put back , then torque bolts back up to there correct settings

THAT ROD PUSHES IN ONCE YOU UNBOLT THE CALIPER, BUT SERIOUSLY IF YOU CANT FIGURE THAT OUT GET SOME EXPERT HELP

Ya need to depress the pistons before fitting the new pads-otherwise youll never fit em over the disk.
If ya get stuck come over here and Ill do it for ya

isn't hard, but easy to bugger up, and you don't want to bugger them up...

All so you'll need to take the top off the brake Resv when pushing the piston in as if it is full it well over flow once the pistons are fully compressed . put a rag around the Revs so as no to drop brake fluid on any paint work etc . May need to take alittle out before starting , then replace if abit low to correct height .

there is no problem taking the pad off on the piston side. The other pad on the opposite side slides on two rods. I can't get one of the rods off to remove that pad. There is no ALLEN KEY thing to remove the bolt. The top rod is connected permanently. The bottom rod has a rubber cover as you can see from the photo.

Part A is fixed. Part B isn't. I can't seem to remove part B. As you can see, the brown thing is the pad and it is held there by the caliper. To remove the pad, I need to remove either Part A or Part B.

THATS RIGHT THE ROD SHOULD SLIDE, GO GET HELP BRAKES OR A LAND POST STOPS YOU CHOOSE THE BRAKES GO GET HELP THE SLIDE MIGHT BE SEIZED. THINK HOW THE CALIPER SELF ADJUSTS AND YOULL FIGURE IT OUT

Ming, just bring it round tomorrow if you cant suss it and i'll sort it for ya, but like WINJA said the whole caliper should slide on those rods.

Anyhow you know my number.
