Just had a look at Metvuw again and I suggest that you make sure your wet weather gear works well.
On the other hand, there's still 2 days to go and this is Auckland, so anything could happen weatherwise.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

    Some last minute organising.......

8.00am, depart the Autobahn on the southern motorway at Papakura, mine is the orange KTM 640 adventure if we haven't met.
@ 8.30 at the Tuakau bridge ( ? Atkin reserve?) for any south aucklanders.
@ 9.30 to 10 ish at Nikau Caves cafe.

After that I have absolutely no idea.

    Catch you guys tomorrow morning!

Man Iain, you can pick the weather. You have a talent.....

Not sure if I actually have wet weather gear any more. Will see how the mood, and the liquid sunshine are looking in the morning.

It's only one of my hidden talents Roger......I suspect it wil be a slightly shorter ride than originally planned, I don't feel like getting drowned completely! However, the morning only looks like showers (hopefully), if not tomorrow we will catch up at some other time.

And the rains good as it keeps the dust and the tourist campers away

edit: and it brings the clay through around the mountain and westward

Hope you guys are having a good ride, I am working and cleaning my house.

The things I have to do to get away to the Coromandel next weekend eh!

I might come out to the riverhead trail ride, not 100% sure if I shall ride it or not. Have to see what the course looks like. It was mucky enough to be hard work last time, and they had no rain around then.

I believe you.....where's that short arse mate of yours with his "the rain will keep the dust down"?

Needless to say it was a small turn out this morning, me and Dual being the only two stupid enough...however apart from a bit of light rain first thing and one shower getting home it was fine, however when you ride thru a metre of water flooding the road you can get slightly drowned. DAMHIK.

Met Roger H at Nikau caves and spent an hour or so nattering and puting the world to rights before looping back to Auckland.

    Maybe next time eh guys?

Got up early and did a Taz weather forecast.
Ended up working on some brownie points to put towards next weekend (and a new back tyre for the same event).
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

Good to get some wet weather km under my belt. Learnt plenty following Ian. Good to know my DR can survive some deep water! Very happy that Ian was first to go through it. My Dynojet equipped Dr switched to reserve 3 km from home. Perfect length ride for a standard DR tank. But only 172km to reserve.
