Texas to allow uni students & staff to pack on campus

A law is about to be passed to allow students and faculty members in Texas universities to have concealed weapons as a form of defense.

Some American guy on here will now badger you that you haven't spoken to every person in America and that you shouldn't judge.

Similar to when I said 40% of Americans with doctorates aren't born in America... apparently I should research every single American with a doctorate myself... to which I just thought... man that guy's an American

to be honest i can sort of see there logic, even if it is a touch fucked up, there are now so many guns in the US that if only the nutters have them in schools there is an issue, there have been a couple of incidents where if students or teachers would have had guns the death toll could have been less,

it does not make much sense to us because guns are not so rampent in our culture, i mean if you talked to a American about our police not carrying guns as standard then they would be shocked, the norms are now so much different

Which means you change the culture, not aid it.

But they have that stupid ammendment which sees them crying that they must have guns. I mean, I like the fact that if a criminal was mugging me I could smack them with a pole and it wouldn't be against the law like it is here.

Is it not better logic to remove guns from society so that the crazy people don't get them, rather than allowing every person to have one and therefore every crazy person gets one too?

do not disagree with you that removing the guns would be a better option, but seriously how much time and money do you think it would take to do that, and do you think you will have the support of the masses to do it, because the gun lobby in the US has huge public support, and i do not think that they are willing to disarm

Naah. A church shootout from "disgruntled worshippers" would be more of the go.

The State law that bans guns in a certain location goes against the Constitution which allows the citizenry to be armed. The lawyers would have made substantial amounts of $$$'s from this.

Gun control is only about one thing, control of the masses.

The original intention of the second amendment was not to allow people to carry arms to defend themselves against each other, it was to allow them to bear arms to defend against the goverment - the whole idea was to allow militia's to have the capability to overthrow a tyrannical government.
Of course, that doesn't sit so well with a government, so they've since reinterpreted the amendment to mean the opposite of it's original intention.

The full text of that amendment is: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
