Im in limbo with the house till its assessed, marseilles tile roof has been quite extensively damaged, house is getting water damage despite patched/tarped roof and 1/2 the tarps/buckets in CHCH in my roof space

I bet if it said 'free DB inside' he could have read it blindfolded

Loved the cap too - ROGUE - bit of a giveaway I thought...

Hey TWR - our ever vigilant mayor says there's only about 60 damaged buildings in Selwyn...

We suspect that figure is from the civil defense - and no one is asking them to look at buildings as they will redcard at the drop of a hat..
Surely EQC can supply figures for the claims made - broken down by area.

maybe 60 in his own street. Civil Defense who are they ?? have only seen one of their vehicles over the whole of last week and that was a fleeting view as it barrelled down Ridgens Rd towards where the GNS have set-up their monitors
I'd say EQC will come out with more accurate figures once the dust settles

    You mean like this?

Thanks for the link - given the relative populations of ChCh & Selwyn I think we've taken more damage proportionately....

Nearly vandalised a Coe billboard today.....found out yesterday our area hasn't had a Civil Defense coordinator for over a year...

I've had the Duke roped to the garage rafters ever since the first quake just to be safe. The akaroa road is still in good nick if you need to let of some steam. Went over to Akaroa yesterday. The summit road from the Cabstand round to Little Akaloa is covered in grit so not really worth going on.

The good news is ... the roads in Central Otago are just fine, as my little mate KP found yesterday. A road-trip on her bike may be coming up ...

Just had two representives of the Selwyn Council arrive and do a building inspection circumstantial maybe, but we'd been on the ph yesterday asking when and what the procedures would be (Civil defense are manning the phs on the council's behalf though).

The senior rep said currently they've got 5 pages of lists themselves to do, so depending on how many they've got out doing the job, they've got a few days work ahead of them.

We got GREEN but I didn't think we'd have any issues anyhow
