Have a plan when shit happens.

My sympathies to those who have lost folks, the injured, and to those still trapped in buildings; to those whose damage has worsened; and I wish all the best to my old colleagues in the Rescue Teams. Kia Kaha.
I'm OK, and so is the family I have here, but it's a hollow feeling.
All good here. Damn glad I was not in my office when it hit (was out shopping with my wife and son). Apparently was a bit of fun to get out the building though it didn't collapse.
Immediate and extended family all good. Thanks too all from outside the region who have text. Our house is still standing though chimney and roof (concrete tile) are looking a little sad.
As with other posts - if anybody needs any help let me know. Got plenty of tools, 4wd etc and muscles to help.
Cheers R

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the quake. I hope all the lovely ChChers that showed us the best in hospitality a few years back are all safe and well
What a difference indifference can make
At a friends house signing in, as we still have no power at home. Our house is okay (it seems, although there are some gaps etc) although the contents took a lot more damage than the September quake, most of our crockery broken, TV etc went over again, and unfortunately both bikes went over. Both bikes lost their right mirrors and received superficial damage to fairings etc. There is liquefaction around our property, which we didn't get with the first quake. Driving over here we were just blown away by the damage.

Wish I was closer that I could be out there helping. I know that there is money and goods donation facilities set up, but at times like this I am the sort of bloke who wants to be out there getting my hands dirty helping others in whatever way physically possible.
I really feel for those who have lost loved ones or stil have them missing. I also feel for the unfortunate people still trapped in rubble. God be with them.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
Sick of this shit.
The family and extended ones are all unhurt which is all that can be wished for in Christchurch tonight.
Still hanging around, and this time the bike didn't do a dive... also got some back on all the workmates who hassled me for keeping the helmet on on the bike - but after seeing the toll would have gladly forgone that.
Family OK, which is main thing, and not too many more cracks in the house (but with all these *&^^ing aftershocks again who knows anymore?!)
Take care everyone, it's all you can do.
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...
