Other half's sister flew down for work a few days ago and she was working in the cbd. Got a text yesterday from her so we all relieved to hear she ok.

If anyone is coming up from chch and needs accomodiation let me know, got a spare room and air bed, couple of couches etc. Our doors are open.

Hopefully they will find time to distribute some this time ... they still had 10 mil from the last appeal that had not been distributed.

One interesting thing about the quake was the way the road rules have changed.

There are pretty much no traffic laws anymore, since all the cops are busy. People running round on dirtbikes, driving over grassed areas in the middle of town.

It's like mad max or some shit.

That part of things is actually kind of fun if you're on a bike

    There is this also....

Aucklanders who are able to offer accomodation to displaced Cantabrians should register by calling 0800 AUCKLAND.

as long as they dont speed and wear Hiviz vests then all is ok

A couple of things I have noticed ,

How well the Emergency services are working

attention seekers who have used this to justify their sad lives

Communications , the old phones still the best ,,,,

the different way different cultures deal with the stress
