The damage in the central city is far worse than what the media shows. The media at this point is censored, in the sense that they only show people what they want to see.

I went into the cordon zones yesterday and saw the true devastation in this god forsaken hell hole.

...yip..but this hell hole is our hell hole...and its bigger than anyone really wants to believe...and hypotheses from afar are fucking annoying ...but also their views are like water off a ducks back...it may not be over down on our personal faultline yet...a mate involved in the monitoring of the main faultline just told me the movements there are huge...are you others all ready...maybe you should be...

correct, the media has been told to play it down, I find it odd that TV shows the same repeated photos etc when I have seen far worse in the near by suberbs.

It sort of makes me feel like we're living in North Korea, China, or some other communist regime which heavily censors the media.

I think that everyone has a right to know the full extent of the damage instead of only showing people what they want to see.

BUGGER that is a sad picture. Mine was on it's side in September - never thought to take a photo, just heaved it up and swore a lot. Lucky for me the damage was cosmetic as the bench broke the fall.

Now - the curtain in the garage - why? Is that the area where you make the porn?

I think it is being handled well - the last thing I want is a media frenzy to find the best worst images of the mayhem in the CBD. I don't want to see it again yet that's for sure.

On the other hand there will not be any comprehension of the damage by those unaffected until there is a full media tour.

BULLSHIT ... if you were living in North Korea or China ... it would be up to YOU to "find" food and water ... and there'd be no porta-loo's ...

You'd be pretty much ... ON YOUR OWN ...

In situations such as Christchurch is experiencing at the moment ... "RIGHTS" are few and far between.

Get over yourself ... and welcome to the real world ...

And if you think the "authorities" have always been honest with "facts" in the past ...
