    Geonet says:
    4.8
    11 km deep
    within 5 kms of Lyttelton

My folks felt it in Timaru.

Great news about the Triumph being returned.

Felt 'better' than that. We were wagering on it being a low 5. I want my money back.

What surprises me is that there have been another 7 or so during the day, in the 3-range. Didn't feel a thing.

Just found out that my doctor who I had been visiting in the CTV building 20 minutes before the 22 Feb quake has finally been named amongst the dead. One of their surviving staff told me last Saturday that he was amongst the missing and I thought I'd accepted that he was gone. Surprised then that hearing him named still felt like someone has kicked me in the guts.

    RIP Allan.

That one went on for a while, longer than other aftershocks of a similar size.

I been using the cycle lanes a bit too with no drama. I was following a guy on an unregistered GN250 up Johns Road on Wednesday afternoon though and saw a guy in a Hilux(?) swerve to block him out of the cycle lane when traffic was at a crawl.

Hey, this business is tiring enough just reading about it without actually having to experience it!

    Good luck people!
