She is, at a friends house. Might offer her a weeks holiday in the North Island.

I am sure once it finally is all over if recent history is anything to go by it will hit somewhere else next time so I think we in Wellington wonder when it is our turn. I hope of course the constant tremors here have kept the pressure low.

So to look at it cheerfully maybe Christchurch will be right then for another 10,000 years or more similar to when the faultlines moved last time.

Yeah so best to stay put I'd say else it could be out of the frying pan into the fire.
    Cheers

Awesome. How much harder to they feel like they hit when you're right over one rather than 10km away?

Pretty much... you might as well enjoy them (if you can), you've gotta clean up afterwards regardless

I've been in no hurry to make repairs for those reasons.

Dont be to suprised if they dont start the rebuild until they know for sure that the quakes have ceased somewhat.
correct... went to sign off a few repeared jobs last week... to find more damage from the Monday quake.
Is ok tho cos tomorow we get to sign off again as extra damage is another claim... and todays yet another clame, fark me its creating excess work, be easier if a veration extension could be issued for the minor extra's THAT would save the GVT, INS and US (the rate/ins/tax payers) a shit load.

I was riding when that 6.0 hit. What a bloody freaky feeling. It felt like I had a puncture in both tyres and for a couple of seconds that's what I thought had happened. Then I noticed the pedestrian trying to balance on the pedestrian crossing and the street lights waving around. Pulled over, planted both feet and rode it out.

Which way did you park your bike, did it fall over?

Hi, so all good at my place again, bikes still standing same as February. Yes I am counting my lucky stars.
Janets bike fell over again, same as February.
Now this has me wondering which direction are your bikes facing and did they fall.

Janets DR sits in a west/East direction in her garage and fell twice now.
Mine sit North/South and have never fallen in a quake.

Obviously a big enough quake from another faultline may make mine fall but then hers will probably stay standing but for now North/South seems safest.

    So anyone else??
