If he did I would want a cut in the takings!

Besides shouldn't you be working (and eyeing up the office staff) than watching me rake up leaves??

Need to rebuild the shocks in the RGV. Was standing in the garage watching the bikes bouce around... the others stopped with the quake, the RGV continued to wallow on its springs for another 2-3 seconds

I don't believe that there is a safe answer to that question ... and I have considered many.

I can think of many also but like you will keep the trap shut! Anyways, what are you planning on doing with the photos!

Got our cheque in the mail today. I'll do a chunk of the re-painting myself so I may have a little money left over to fix some older stuff the earthquake didn't actually cause.
First step is to find a plasterer/gib-stopper to seal up the internal cracking and then see how much money is left. I'm in no hurry though which I guess is a good thing as I'm sure they'll all be flat out.

Our stopper is a decent one, if ya want a contact let me know.
So did you have to get a quote for the stopping and painting inorder to get the cheque? kinda wish I had bothered now to winge about the few cracks we have.
    cheers DD

Cheers. No quote was required. Two very good EQC men came in, walked around for 45 minutes making notes of all the damage and then 24 days later the cheque arrived in the mail. I guess they have some sort of formula for working out the cost.

Yeah, they do and it seems reasonably generous. But be aware that banking the cheque means you accept their figure and have no recourse if it turns out to be low...
If you're happy that all your damage is superficial gib then fair enough.
If there's a suspicion of hidden damage, get an engineers report.

    and life goes on...

I need furthur roof repairs as still have major weatherproofing problems,1 bedroom is un-usable now..Dangerous is going to help sort it,roof is going to have 3 tarps soon

Was told yesterday by EQC that their repair estimate is $22,000 which is an absolute joke and would hardly cover the roof replacement/repairs let alone the re-piling,plastering,painting, sorting the garage(which is toast)etc etc.Awaiting a visit from my loss adjusters Structural Engineer.
5 weeks since EQC visited and still waiting for cheque for $4300 for contents

The Ducati repairs have turned into an absolute nightmare.I will NEVER EVER set foot in Casbolts again

Long story but should have Ducati home by the end of next week....
