VIOLENT NEW ZEALAND FEED UP !!

What is it with this country and the absolute belief by young men in particular that violence is OK ?
thursday night in our family means a walk up the road to Chartwell Square for a spot of shopping and a meal of takeaways, we enjoy this, why do we go out aprehensive about our safety ? New Zealands a safe country isnt it ? A safe country my arse!
We go to the shops and there are kids everywhere smoking swearing, skidding in their cars being generally a bunch fuckwits while families try and hold together a focus of fun for their kids, why the fuck is it this way ?

Tonight we went to drop of some movies walked past BK to find a car parked up on the footpath, directly infront of us (nowhere for us to go) kids all around us, these DOGS pulled a young guy out of a car and took turns bashing the living shit out of him, right infront of my wife and kid !! there would have been about 20-30 kids of ages between 10 and 18 what the fuck ! we had to witness this while this pack of DOGS went to work on this kid.
I did not know what the hell to do , I yelled out "the cops are on the way" , and just watched until they dispearsed a bit then I went up to the kid in the car with the security lady to back her up a bit.
(what was I supposed to do give them more meat)
So whats with this ? what the hell is going on ? this kid had blood all over his face blood along the side of the car and the Gang of DOGS thought it was awesome, the best thing ever !

Ive personally had a gutsful of the mentality of this country when it comes to violence not to mention booze.

Tonight I blame the complete lack of BALLS from the police to patrol this area on late night shopping and move groups of these DOGS along, I have never seen a cop walking the beat around here ever, tomorrow I will be making an offical complaint ( if I can)to get this shit soughted out (yeah right).

I dont think the cops will do any good, the kids will just move on to another area, next time grab the camera to/for:
1 evidence
2 to amuse us at KiwiBiker

As far as I am concerned its New Zealand wide, everywhere !

It goes hand in hand with a whole bunch of black and white attitudes (not racial ones) about what makes a "bloke". NZ has always been absolutist in how a "bloke" should be percieved and what makes for acceptable behaviour.

Good on you for getting pissed off about their behaviour, and doing what you could to help.

It is everywhere and a major shit off that families cant enjoy a night out shopping and relaxing.

Saturday night just gone there was a party over the road from me. Noisy drunk teenagers which didnt bother me cos its kinda a rare occurance. BUT when I heard the sound of drunken youths and bottles smashing at the bottom of my driveway I saw RED.

Got my big spotty out (my night diving torch it kicks arse) and stood at the top of the driveway and told the little shits to get the hell off my driveway with their damn bottles. I just stood there with the torch and they soon got annoyed enuff to bugger off. Thats after they called me a "CRAZY LADY"

Now who the hell told them I was a lady dammit

Fark Quasi, this sounds bloody terrible. You did it all right though I think mate, good call on 'cops are coming' thing.

I personally hate these pricks who think that physical violence is something that shows the measure of a person...even more so ones that things fucking someone up with a dozen of your mates there for the party is something that makes them hard. What to do though? Start your own gang and dish out justice in a fair fight? If the cops don't take control of it, it's hard to say.

Seriously though, it happens in most places Bret, and now you and your young family have witnessed it in your part of the world, sorry it happened.

Real violence is never a pretty picture, but the fakiest of fakers *Hollywood* portrays it as a positive attribute which 'programmes' the youth (and adults alike) of today resulting in a violent society. I often chuckle when I see these fist-fight scenes on the movies, knowing all too well that even one good punch can end it, yet these guys are punching eachother 10, 15 , 20 times!

i believe it is. i also know the area commander reasonably well and what his attitude to youths harassing the general public is. you wouldn't describe it as lenient.

quasi - just be thankful we don't live in cabramatta, st kilda, kings cross or the auckland bronx, man.

I had a great experience when i lived in toronto - between Sydney and newcastle nsw . a former mining town on the fringes. Hamilton by the sea if ever....

There was nothing much for the local youths to do except get into trouble most weeknights. I was running the local YMCA basketball club, started it so i wouldn't have to drive my kids 64km for a game, but that's another story - i used to let the 'local youth' in to use the facilities and just hang out after the younger kids finished playing.

we had these games of 'tackle' basketball, if they had a problem it was sorted in the square circle. One of the young blokes turned into current Kangaroo footballer Willy Mason and his big brother Les used to frequent too.
We turned quite a few kids around. Willy thanked me personally - and the other blokes at the Y when he was selected for Aus.

We even got some of the real angry aboriginal kids to come and do some sport and play by the rules. hadn't some of them had tough lots.

Make your complaint, deserves it - my long winded point is there are proactive things in the community you can do about it too.

I get the same kind of bullshit at school same attitude .
theres all ways a group of about 20 kids all third form
that go around and TRY to imtimidat others .
one day they they decided to throw apples at one of my friends
they got him in the side of the head he got up wiped off all the
apple himself walked up to the guy who threw it
grabed the guy by the front of his collar and lifted him in to the air
(by this time the other 19 had ran away)
the guy was appoligising 5 times after the fith my friend let him go

after that day the 20 kids never even look at my friend or me
i suppose they got the message
