    Tyre wear pop quiz

I experienced severe tyre wear on the right hand side of my front tyre at Hampton Downs last weekend. The tyre is a Pirelli Supercorsa SC1 and this was its 4th day on track. The previous 3 times at looked fine and I have not changed the suspension or tyre pressures. I got some advice on the day and softened the suspension and increased the hot pressure from 30 to 34 psi. After these adjustments the tyre didn't get any worse but didn't clean up either.
Any feedback would be of interest.

I suspect that tyre was running way too hot, and was experiencing sideways slippage as a result?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Hot track that day ? it looks like smearing to me, which happens at high temp, and is made worse by any slippage.

It's pretty extreme, and has done a lot of laps with considerable distress.

Either way, it's a bin job now.

I;d be gutted if my tires didn't last forever.

I suggest you ride more slowly
