    Thumbs up

There is an awesome bakery on Old Taupo Rd in Roto-Vegas that does a Steak, Bacon, Mushroom and Cheese number! Has to be the best I have ever had - and I have had quite a few in my 33 years... Have the gut to prove it!

When I was down in Otago, you couldn't beat a Jimmys pie. The Mince option was almost better than the M&C, now that has to say something...

    Fuck I love pies.

Sadly I have had to cut back as I have been getting fatter and fatter every year.

So, instead of 3 pies a day (or 6 pies a day if I was hungrey+cream cakes) I have only had a single pie in the last month.

    And fuck it was good.

I wanted to lick it all over before taking a bite, maybe rub a bit on my nipples, But I had already freaked out the pie lady so I played it cool

Anyhow, Steak and Cheese is a safe option if you don't know the shop, Only real useless or tight cunts can fuck it up, if the shop is any good I like to sample the entire range and pick a few favorites.

Every so often a shop has a single pie that is a stunner, The Mince and Cheese pie at the Kuripuni bakery is a stunner.

Cheese is a super food, it awesominises everything its applied to.

Butter Chicken is amazing. But the all round best definitely Steak and Cheese. Pure simple and great, as long as they have made it with top quality pastry! Nom Nom Nom.

When Pete's pie's burnt down in Wanganui last year It was like a end or a era,but last week I discovered that they have reopened in Sanson, can't really name a favourite as all the pie's there are great,

The Rahtehi pie man is in wanga's but you need to be hungry as one of his pie's is equal to 2 pies

but either steak and cheese or mince in cheese is my choice but they goota be reeally good

Aha. the ultimate thread.....beats any porn site you care to mention....

I have road tested a number of pies from a number of locations made by a number of people from a number of countries with a number of fillings wrapped on a number of pastry recipies......

I have to say that the ultimate pie for me, the one that you can count on to get you through the day, that rises to meet your expectations, ultimate comfort food, the pie that reminds you of home, your first beer, your favorite pet, your best mate and your filthiest root.....

The pie that makes you smile during the bad times, stay staunch at funerals and completeley piss yourself when yer granny pisses her bloomers...

It has to be, it must be, without doubt

    the one, and only

    Mince and cheese....

And that from tha fat blokes mouth.....

Petes pies was awesome, I'd buy two at a time, One to eat on my drive back to work, one to eat when I arrived. His Chicken, cheese and apricot was killer.

Shorties pies in Ridgeway street was awesome a few years back, Butcharts have always been excellent for an awesome pie.

mince in pies is just wrong, I prefer chucks of real steak and proper home made gravy. and real cheese not that yukky processed stuff. and fresh crisp pastry that holds it all together.

mrs Mc Gregors steak n cheese wins, closely followed by Tulsi butter chicken or Rogan josh. probably not in the same meal tho.

    Pies hmmmm

Jimmy's mince and cheese from Roxburgh followed closely by a McGregors Mutton pie from Palmerston (South Island).

Well I voted 'steak and mushroom' but only because there was no 'steak and kidney' option. Mmmm, Burwood Bakery!
