+1 for the drill out what you already have.

As a precaution, make sure you drill where you can get suffiicient access to pop rivet the holes up again.

how many holes does it take before the jetting starts to go out though? Not sure what the vt750 is like, but if its similar to the likes of the s40, hole exiting the muffler is about 3 10mm holes worth, so adding that may be pretty significant.

"Loud" pipes have a resonant chamber to amplify the bass, and filtering to chop the high-pitched sounds, and your pipes have neither so hacking it will just make it sound all farty and loud like theres a hole in the exhaust.

If you reeeeeeely must have a "loud" pipe on it and you dont want to pay, then find a 2nd hand straight-through two-inch car exhaust and get that welded on and spray paint the lot black. It will look like shit and its a car exhaust on a bike (serious bad karma) but hey you get what you want.

You might find something a little better than that in trademe bike exhaust category.
    Oh. You're back huh?
wifey give you some more rope?.
seriously, why the fuck do even bother spelling out such a piss poor suggestion?

Look I know it sucks living in a country where a 250cc bike is like a Hayabusa but posting a pic of your transgender genitalia wasn't neccessary.

what would be the easiest and cheapest way to give it more sound without having to buy V&H pipes or ripping the baffles out somehow and losing all back pressure?

    eat more pies...

gain weight like the rest of us and then you will need to ride round in a lower gear and higher revs, and therefore be louder...

Everyone talks about that, and the theory is sorta sound, but in practice I doubt you are going to upset the tuning dramatically if at all.

Shit we must be the same age. Was the rage back then, guilty as well but a 650 so it probably sounded a bit throatier.

not with one hole, but a couple maybe, heaps and it's a definite. Assuming a resonant chamber type muffler rather than a glass packed one of course.
