How do I make my bike louder without buying other mufflers?

    Hi guys

The standard pipes on my VT750 are just way too quiet

what would be the easiest and cheapest way to give it more sound without having to buy V&H pipes or ripping the baffles out somehow and losing all back pressure?

Take your ear plugs out when you go for a ride.

Sharpen the end of a bit of Rebar and beat it down the end of your exhaust with a mallet.

upgrade the stator and add a few of these?

then put some devildriver on, and turn the volume up to 11

Seriously though, need more info about what type of muffler it is. You could take the lid off your airbox too, might make it a bit louder and you shouldn't need to change the jetting.

In the outer ring looking up the pipes drill 4 holes with a 8 - 10mm drill top and bottom and left and right, will give you some more sound, you can also debaffle them but the above will possibly give you all you want.
Don't judge me based upon your ignorance.

Mufflers are just there to satisfy emissions standards. Take them off.

    Thumbs up

You can hack the existing muffler, but it will sound like shit.

"Loud" pipes have a resonant chamber to amplify the bass, and filtering to chop the high-pitched sounds, and your pipes have neither so hacking it will just make it sound all farty and loud like theres a hole in the exhaust.

If you reeeeeeely must have a "loud" pipe on it and you dont want to pay, then find a 2nd hand straight-through two-inch car exhaust and get that welded on and spray paint the lot black. It will look like shit and its a car exhaust on a bike (serious bad karma) but hey you get what you want.

You might find something a little better than that in trademe bike exhaust category.

As if you haven't done the same to one of your poor bikes.

    I once welded 2 Coby Car Mufflers on to a 1969 CB350.

Sounded like shit but fuck me it was loud!
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Im with phillk on his one, did it to my 650Bros & also to my vt250....what I like about the drill bit method is that if you want it louder after 10mm holes, then take it up to 12mm...or 6 holes
If you take a minimum of care & punch the holes first you'll get it looking all professional like
