Well done Andrew on your 9th championship and well done all you quick guys, how you can maintain that pace for 20 laps I’ll never know. My puny little body was screaming after just 10!!
I was sweating like a paedophile outside a play ground, hit the brakes for the hairpin on one occasion and splashed the ‘inside’ of my visor with sweat!
Unfortunatly I had no one to race with so just circulated at a ‘very’ modest pace keeping my eye out for the freight train to come by, and it did…..twice!! Hey I didn’t even come last in the first race!
Hopefully more will show up at Manfield next week. Its freekin hard trying to concentrate on riding all on your lonesome lap after lap with know one to push you or chase you, spent my time listening for the tell tale engine harmony of some one on your ass and a look out for blue flags. Absolutely no point in getting in their way.
I thought my bike was reasonably quick until I saw how fast those extra ponies in the Superbike engines make them go! Oh and there is the talent thing too of course.
Despite the on again off again weather and the on again off again first race it was a awesome experience working in the Yamaha pit with Brian Bernard, Dan Stauffer, Tony Rees, Jaden Hassen and Mike Reid. All working together, with some friendly banter and heaps of advice.
Thanks to all the marshalls for staying out in some pretty crap weather you did a fantastic job and were kept busy on Saturday!
Hey I’m the New Zealand Superstock 1000 TT Champion and got pole position for the class ha ha. The trophies tell it all eh!
Come on guys buy a litre bike and come racing, the pain is worth it
