I ran out of petrol on the way home tonight.
Half way up Ngauranga Gorge.
Cool I thought, I'll switch to reserve... Ah, no. It's on reserve. Bugger. Lay the bike down (it's the KLX) to get the gas across the tank.
A few things I'd like to point out:
1. Laying the bike down gives you 200 metres of gas.
2. I can get 145 kms to dry after caning the bike on the motorway every day.
3. The KLX is very good at getting every last drop out of the tank.
4. Ngauranga Gorge is fuckin' steep.
5. Newlands BP is a long way from the turn off, and it's steep too.
6. I should join a gym.

so it took a while to get going. Once I ran out about 2km from work, coasted for a while, then pushed it, then gave up (hill to go up), and rang the AA. Had to wait about 45 minutes for them to bring some gas. Would've been quicker to abandon the bike, go to the gas station and return. Ah well....
