    Snip from Joseph Gerbils

    Please refrain from over-stocking supplies
Food and supplies are selling out from the stores in the Tokyo Metropolitan area, however this may cause in running short of supplies for the worst stricken areas. Japanese government has announced that there are enough supplies in stock. Please act calmly with patience.

Im calm ...but if the whiskey runs out , I kill....

Yeah - amen to that. After VE day my old man travelled overland with all his units gear from northern Italy back to Blighty and was told not to hurry so he took full advantage... What he saw in the fire bombed cities of Germany caused him troubles for many years and frankly I dont think he was overly happy about it at all.

I would never condem a veteran's view or opinion of an event but we have the luxury of taking a wider view. War's change people - they are terrible terrible things because of that and you would be horribly wrong if you thought that the behaviour of the Japanese then is anything like what they are now. Point to any ethnic group (even Kiwis) and you will find a fairly recent and nasty stain - its a part of the human condition and not unique to Japan. I'm afraid to say that on the inside we truely are all pretty well the same (ie dreadful)

Our job as human beings is to rise above that and to make sure we keep our capacity for hatred well in check.

I have many Japanese friends and I work for a Japanese company. I hope my friends are going to be OK but I'm sure they will attend diligently to their efforts to work through it all...

I've suspected for years that an Enfield could survive a nuclear catastrophe....are we going to find out now ?

I see the NZ govt has issued an advisory to leave....could be about time to go.

it fell over scratch its tank and broke the guttering down pipe .
Thanks for the kind offers but I live here and a few errgs wont shift me

On saying that, When it comes to doing stuff quickly and being decisive , the Japanese are friggen useless at it

Couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery. You are starting to see this with the Reactors, Dropping water on the according to the Americans is pointless you have to get the pumps working

As a culture they focus on detail , the reason why the bikes are good , but they will miss the more important bigger picture

Seen it a hundred times. Now its serious.

Oh well spent the day in the garden planting me veges , Doing a bit of Cad work on the computer before the power goes out , ( shit only 1/4 bottle of Whiskey left ...Time to buy the ULTRA cheap stuff . Times ARE hard )

I was watching the history of the Nazi party last night and thinking to myself I would have buggered off

Well I'm in the same position. The situation as it stands is bad but bearable , but it could turn to custard at any moment

But if it DOES turn to Jelly , then its too late , the boys have arrived with the Yellow stars and I have a bit of a sticky wicket on me hands

    OR
