    But that's when you write in and tell them your rego is up-to-date and that the sticker fell off but that you've got another one now. Send a photo of it on your bike and they'll waive the fine (not guaranteed in the North Island, South Island, Stewart or other islands). You'll have to invite your Mrs along to dinner as well

    Interesting tho, the display thing, cos the cops don't give a rats arse about it. I have been pulled over 4 times in the last 2 or 3 years and only once have I been asked for my rego and I had to remove my seat to show them. The cop was then happy I had a rego and nothing was said. If your bike is currently registered at the time you are issued a failing to display, and you prove it, surely the ticket would be cancelled?
    Very seldom park in town tho so for me not really an issue, but I am sure this must happen a lot. Mate of mine got one cos the warden didn't see it and it was on display on the swingarm or screen or something. But is an uneccessary hassle to get the ticket quashed.
