I use silicone-spray on my FXDXT and it sharpens up the black 'crackle' finish on the engine casings - only negative is that dust sticks to it and you get dirty hands if you touch the cases after spraying silicone on the motor and going for a ride.

I use it everywhere and never had a problem with it. Aaaaaabsolutely maaaaaaarvelous at getting wheel gunk off.

I wouldn't use the gritty stuff on glossy paintwork though. I'd love to try a general cleaning product that has the same active ingredient as the hand cleaner.

I was told a person used a citrus based degreaser on a Buell and it stripped the paint in blotches to the point where an insurance claim was made and the company concerned wrote the bike off.
