I have never heard of that brand and would suggest it would be more trouble than it's worth.
Stick to the GN250 idea.
Or perhaps these.....

I Had looked at those two but one of then has massive dent in the fuel tank. The other requires new rego and most likely several months of back payment.
Yea. Looked on google at kinrod and fond its a chinese bike that has no available parts. So ill keep looking. There is a gn250 in tauranga im looking at for $900. But would need someone to look at it in person and then would need to figure out how to get it to auckland cus I dont have a full set of gear yet.

Is there anyone in that area that could take a look at that bike for me. If its good which it sounds like it is I will drop the sale price on my car and use the buy now.
Like Katman already said. As long as the bikes not deregistered you never have to worry about back paying rego. When you do the ownership papers the rego will reset to that day and the previous owner will be responsible for any back payments. I think 3 months rego is around $110 for a 250cc.
also, if you sign up (free) you can enter a bikes number plate into carjam to find out current wof/rego status and see how many k's the bike has actually done (everytime you go to get a WOF they record the k's in the system). You can also pay a small amount and see if theres any money owing or if its been fire-damaged/water-damaged etc... i think you get 3 free basic lookups a month.
good luck finding a bike, that SR looks like a pretty good deal.
Yea. Im quite keen on the SR. My only concerns are when was the sprocket and chain last done cause I understand thats quite expensive. And do the breaks need any tuning or anything and I want to know his reason for selling because not a single photo shows a full number plate so I c ant carjam it. Whether this was on purpose I have no idea but I want the bike checked out first.
I hate to say it, but it seems to me that you are not yet in a position to afford a motorcycle, if you are that worried about all of these things.
Either that, or whoever you are getting advice from is very keen to put you off the idea.
With your currently stated budget you will be looking for a long time to get anything that ticks all of your boxes that is under 20 years old, and not chinese.
You do realise that you are talking about a bike that is 30 years old, and you want service records for every 6 months? To buy a bike that age without expecting ongoing maintenance costs is a bit unrealistic IMO.
Good luck finding a bike.
Keep on chooglin'
AT no point did i say anything about wanting 6 month service records. I just wanted to know if he has done the chain recently because if he hasnt then it is probably due.
IM just making sure I dont buy a cheap bike and discover I require 1000 worh of maintenance to get it running.
There was a chinese bike i was looking at that had less than 1000 on the clock but it was a totally unknown brand that has no parts availality So I just ignored it.
Im quite keen on that bike near Whakatane. IM just waiting for my car to sell and waiting for him to respond to my questions. Once that s done I will probably take it.
Cheap + buying bike off trademe does almost always not work. I'm only telling you this because it sounds you're in a position where you NEED a reliable and economical form of transport.
I bought an $800 bike knowing it needed some work, close to $5k all up later it's still sitting in my garage, and worth about...$800
Which Is why I asked here. Because anyone selling here will most likely put on trademe anyway.
OK. Im pretty much set on the Opotiki bike. Well looked after and even if it needs a new chain and sprocket it probably wont be hard to get sorted considering its a GN250 so their are plenty of parts(would obviously get someone who knows what there doing to do it) And my car will hopefully sell within the next week.
My next question is, Is there anyone that knows of a cheaper way to transport a bike from the whakatane region to auckland. Riding isnt an Option as I dont have a full set of gear and will have had next to no practice. I have looked at hauls transport and they quoted $270. Which is bloody expensive when they would go from wellington to auckland for $50 more. So are there any other companies that are cheaper or is there anyone that could bring it up on a trailer.
Thanks guys. Your guys input has been a great help.
drive down with your parents get them to ride it back (arent they riders)
My step dad is a rider. That was the plan. but its quite a way. And adds a fair amount in extra fuel. for example: tauranga and back cost $100 in fuel and thats on a deisel with bloody good fuel economy.
However I am now considering this bike. its only a 125 but ive read that isnt really an issue and I only plan to have the bike about 6 months till im in a better financial situation and then ill by a better quality bike.
