That's interesting to know. I'll look at it again later in the year when my contract ends. I was under the impression that 2 Degrees was better for calls and txting but shite for data. Is it really slow? 2 degrees still isn't 3G is it?

It's pretty fast, although I haven't done a speed test or anything, and I'm usually just checking email/doing some basic browsing or ssh/ftp. Usually get a HDSPA connection, and good coverage.

Have a go at Compassnet. Get the wireless setup. that's what i got and it gives me phone and fast as internet speed for around $69 a month. No need for phone lines.
Need to be inline with the towers though. worth checking it out.

Compass oorrr...Make sure you get a good clear copy of the contract, as you will need it to read the,fine print.

This isn't relevant, exactly, for your query, but I offer it up for comparisons sake. Also, others may be interested in what a non-city dweller has chosen. I am with paradise, independent of my landline. Dial-up to a maximum 150 hours for $15 per month.

My only option for broadband is to install a satellite dish and pay $60 per month. So I am happy on my slow cheap one, but can't do youtube and stuff because of dial-up speed.

No cell phone coverage here, either. How the other half lives

How much does your 3Gb last you? presumably you would use it all up within the 90 days?

If I dont watch video it easily lasts for 2 months (my bad its actually 60 days not 90 days as I first thought).

I can also use my phone to connect to the net, as well as my laptop. As well, he phone works as a modem, so you dont need to buy a vodem thingy.

Because I'm all set up mobile, i can take my phone and or laptop to mcdonalds and use their free broadband
