Not at all. B.E.A.Rs is a great class. But most of those bikes fit into other classes. There are no more of them that do not, than there are Japanese bikes without a competitive class.

Why try and fit another class into the program to fit just one minority.

The idea of gridding them up with F2 at club rounds is a good one though. There is space for them, and there isn't a dangerous speed differential.

(As a bonus, Italian thousands can be competitive)

yeah I think if the races were longer it could be a problem with speed, but the 6 laps this weekend wouldnt be a problem with an F2/Bears mix i wouldn't think. Just an idea to get numbers up, and give at least some of the big guns an extra class. Full grids = healthy club funds = more chance of club days survival for us to go play
Not really sure why people are so against running Bears anymore. It brings more numbers and a lot of those extra numbers can cross enter into other classes as well to fill the grids.

I think Taupo (where PMCC usually run) is more liberal - I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong.
Very similar rules at both tracks.....

Yeah! 916-996/RSV's would be a good fit for F2. But then you could argue why not Honda SP1/2's or TLR1000 as well? Maybe just a blanket 1000cc twins addition? Would be an interesting wee class or sub-class.

But realistically someone needs to get some firm commitments from potential riders/racers before suggesting it otherwise it's just a wasted effort when no-one turns up. It shouldn't be up to the club to chase up, those guys have got enough on their plate.

seems a bit wrong that the f1 class get the least track time just cause there fast. give the streetstock less laps and the f1/f2 more seems logical if you based it on time

Bears is already a recognised class world wide, except in North Island NZ lol. With the numbers of eligible bikes already entered in this round, the grid would already be bigger than any other class entry so far., plus the extra's it would attract, I would expect a close to full capacity grid.
Limiting it to twins would knock out half of them or more. Though it would alow SV's etc to enter, but they do already have a class they can cross enter into. And reaslistically....how many TL's and VFR's are out there racing?
Only have to ask most spectators from last winter which race gave huge entertainment.....the battle of the BEARs at the front of F1 !!! go figure.

What a brilliant idea,Lets do exactly the opposite to that being run at Mototrcycling Canterbury where they give the development class as much tracktime as possible and are producing ALL the new up and coming 600 riders,Lets limit it to 2 x 2 lap races for streetstock/Prolite 250,That oughta get the young riders excited.

So you think its better to give them 12 mins of track time and the 600s 8 mins cause that really encourages them to step up a class. dont cut back the young guys then but give the bigger bikes a few more laps

Now your thinking,2 etra laps for F1 would take no more than 3 mins x 3 =9 mins total for the day

Don't bet on it. But we're not running the long track this round, so the nearest fence to chuck it over is exiting the sweeper. In which case...DUCK!
