Max speed - where?

Is there somewhere in NZ where “legally” you can test out the maximum speed of your vehicle? Like specifically a straight road and you just go at it till your bullocks run out of juice?

Down in the Wairarapa and held a couple of times each year. A great day out and worth doing at least once, no matter what you ride.

You could do a track day at pukekohe (longest back straight in the country) or try the night speed drag ways at meremere

Or latch onto someone in the airforce and check out using one of the runways they have

Track 1 at Taupo has a nice long straight, provided you can hold a bit of speed coming off the double apex corner leading onto it. And hold your nerve into the braking area for a while.......
