Uses for bikes in a Zombie Apocalypse?

If the Zombie Apocalyse were imminent/ in full swing, what would you do with your motorcycle?
While 4wds and tanks have obvious plus sides when it comes to running zombies down, surely motorcycles must offer more benefits than the ability to lanesplit out of Auckland quick-smart?

Creative suggestions welcome, we want to make sure everyone in out flat is well prepared for this eventuality so are drafting our game plan.

Fit Scandinavian snow tyres (with the metal studs) then you can do do-nuts on them so shredding the zombie.

Riding a bike in a zombie appocalypse is not very smart thing to do....it has short range, cannot carry anything, offers no protection, cant sleep in it and as you said you cant run zombies down with it.... even little kids know the only suitable vehicle in case of zombies is large diesel 4x4....
Also hope you have been stocking up on guns, ammo, and canned food/water...

Then again, in the case of blocked city streets, a large scale vehicle wouldn't be of much help without ramming or road clearing capabilities.. A decent motox would be far more suitable in inner city zombocolypse

We're in New Zealand! The obvious thing to do would be to go to some kind of island, populate it with some game and live there zombie free. Though that would only work if the zombies weren't smart enough to head to the island, then again I'm sure if they were that intelligent they'd also be doing a pro/con analysis of the situation.

    The zombie apocalypse?

Did you notice in THE WALKING DEAD that they had a couple of motorbikes (choppers in fact) but they were tied down in the back of pickup trucks.

I think that they would be of limited utility, except in a fast scouting type role. My evac plan is for a Landrover 90 with enclosed trailer, guns and ammunition (and Sade records as a last resort*) water and food, and GTFO of town.

Motorbike engine is the best way to feel rounds into a massive 20.0cal machine gun really.
I mean you have to get the rounds in there fast.

    This.

Plus a motorbike cannot carry enough food/liquids/ammo to hope to survive for any length of time without extensive scavenging, and they are on the whole far too noisy - not much hope of getting around without attracting the wrong kind of attention.

Motorbikes would be excellent in the initial stages of the apocalypse - getting you the heck out of dodge, to where you can slow down and find a real, long-term zombie-survival vehicle.

I'll only be using my bike to escape if all other plans fail.

I mean if I take off on it, it runs out of gas and I get separated from it, when all this shit blows over (which it will) I may not be able to find it again.

My plan is to steal the neighbors land cruiser and stock up on 12 gauge and .308 and fuck off into the hills, where I will build my own anti zombie fortress out of trees and brawn.

You need to pimp up the front of the bike to help cut through the masses of zombies.

    1. Cutting blade - straight out in front about half a meter wide, then tapering back at an angle on each side. Needs to be at zombie head height for maximum decapitation awesomness.

    2. Zombie roadkill fairing. Much like the "scoop" thing in front of a train to deflect recently decapitated (or short) zombies from hitting the front wheel.

    3. Usual armaments, including side holsters for shotguns.

Or if you have a gatling gun lying around you could go machete sylez:

Lets not forget leathers and helmet.

You'd want a decent bit of armour to protect your neck, but they'd have to be some hungry 'roided up motha-fucken walking dead to bite through leather and ce armour.
