    Stonechucker in major accident.

Police report 13:20 today - a motorcyclist has serious/life threatening injuries after hitting the Moonshine Bridge, Tentham.

When will we stop crashing and killing ourselves!

Hope and pray for a brother or sister, people.

And hope it's not anyone from here.

Mate - we won't - riding a motorcycle is dangerous shit. Always has been - always will be.
Take the precautions, wear the gear and accept it could happen to any one of us. There are some odds.

Adds: hope the guy is OK and no one from here.

That bridge is a death trap. Ought to have been pulled down and replaced years ago

Frosty, you're right. It's on the Upper Hutt River Road

Here's a very rough diagram of what the bridge is like

Blue line in the river of course
Black line is the current road and bridge
Red line is where a bridge should be

You can see they were cheap bastards and made the bridge as short as possible by approaching the river at a sharper angle. Ideally it would be straight across. There's a heap of crosses on that bridge, they should never have built it

Oh shit. Just checked this. I was up there not long ago and cops just closed the road as I was about to ride through. Please keep us updated if anyone knows anything.
    Has anyone seen my baffles?
