Hayden is now fourth in the championship two points behind Stoner. Didn't see that coming

Some 'ambition' and 'ability' there, from 15th to 5th after an off !

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

Vale did admit that going straight to the Repsol Honda garage meant he could 'feel more protected with the helmet.'
Rossi said he didn't even mean to try and pass but got in too hot and couldn't go wide. Stoner harbors the suspicion that Vale was trying to prove something to him on his old bike.

Truly heroic piece of spin doctoring there Gazza

He "achieved" that result on a bike he could have challenged for the win on and all it took was...

Punting off pole sitter and race favourite
Spot of luck with bike still in running order
35 helpfull marshals to get him going who then proceed to drag Stoner off the track
43 other riders to fall off

    Truly magisterial performance.

Well to be honest who gives a shit who's up who and woulda shoulda coulda!

What a bloody brilliant race! Bring on the rain again!
More about the riders than the bikes, the good, the bad and the ugly!

Brilliant! gonna watch that again! only one winner here thats moto GP!

I must say though, Lorenzo did show common sense, ability and skill thats for sure!

Stoner does himself no favors though, instead of dissing Rossi's apology as "just for the camera" (which it may well have been) he could have just said " Yeah, Na, all good mate just get that front end sorted before trying that one again eh"

Putting on a brave face when shit happens is part of the job - If he looses the championship by 20 points or less he may then be able to safely say " Yeah, Na, but if Rossi hadn't taken me out at Jerez I woulda won it" and everyone would say "yeah bad luck cobber"

    Agreed!!

here's what Crash .net says went down

This is what Casey Stoner said to Valentino Rossi when the Italian apologised for taking the Australian out of the Spanish MotoGP after a botched overtake for second place on lap 8 of 27.

Rossi rejoined to finish fifth, while new Repsol Honda rider Stoner - who won from pole at round one in Qatar, and was on pole again at Jerez - was forced to retire.

Rossi went to find Stoner in the Repsol Honda pits after the race and they shook hands, then...

Stoner (smiling): “How's your shoulder? Is it okay?”

Rossi (helmet still on): “I'm very sorry.”

Stoner: “Okay. You have some problem with your shoulder?”

    Rossi: “I make a mistake”

Stoner: “Yeah. Obviously your ambition outweighed your talent.”

    Rossi: “Eh?”

Stoner: “Ambition is more than the talent.”

    Rossi: “I'm very sorry.”

    Stoner: “No problem.”

Mind you on a rethink there's a case to be said that Rossi deserved a serve and Stoner was quite within his rights to have a go at his Talent after being punted off like that! Bearing in mind to race at that level you would have to believe you had as much or more talent than your competitors!!

AH well all good for the season aye!! Bit of biff and bash and more front end wash outs than on laundry day!!

First of all...show me Rossi getting taken out by a muppet move.

Light years faster than Stoner? Hardly. He simply made a muppet move that cost Stoner points.

Build a bridge? I don't need to mate. I won $200.00 at the tab for backing Lorenzo. Quite happy with the outcome of the race actually.

Last...but not least...if you're proud of that fudge packer Rossi for his display of 'sportsmanship', and you think it was fair...I pity you. Best thing is...Stoner is gonna give ya boyfriend a fair fucking hiding this year. Despite being taken out by a novice move by him.

Because he's a fudge packing pussy. Have you heard the rumours? Rossi is trying to get weight revisions. As in...rider vs bike weights! What a fag. "It's not fair that someone like Pedrosa is only 45kg's" Well...the way I see it is the lil 45kg MoFo has to try way harder to make that nasty GP bike do what he wants it to do, compared to a tough cunt like Spies. Swings and roundabouts.

    Rossi = Whaaaaaaaa.

Rossi was on a charge, though.......and his lap times coming back up through the pack were quicker than the guys in front.......Stoner was justified to be pissed off with the marshalls though - apparently it takes a minimum of 2 to push start a Honda.......
