Try reading the link from Damian below, pretty sure Mr Gardner's opinion hold more water than yours and I whole heatedly agree with his views on this incident.
Lets get this straight (no pun intended) I was not and have not condoned what Rossi did to Stoner as being ok, quite the opposite. It was dumb and poor judgement by someone of his experience but like it or not mistakes happen, it's the nature of human beings.
And by the way congratulations on your winnings.

I've read that. And it's funny. As if Gardner was known for his calm calculated responses when he was racing! These are young guys, with a lot to loose. You can hardly expect them to say the perfect thing in the heat of the moment.

I certainly know from all the karting I've done it's not that hard in a new chassis to make a move that would have come off in the old one!! And then you end up on the side of the track thinking fuck I did that heaps of times last year????

Secondly given the way he went the rest of the race I would be thinking he's still kicking himself for a race he may have won or been on the podium! Who knows he could have just thrown away another championship for himself!

Hate to say it but the guy who went fastest, with the most brains and skill won the race! Can't have been easy on what tyres he had left at the end they where absolutely shagged!!

We wanted action and we certainly got it that would have been one of the most action packed races I've seen in any form of motorsport!! Bring it on!

Very interesting reading that article above with the pins in the clutch on the Honda and it being hard to bump start! Makes it real hard for you to get re-started and rejoin if you make a cock up at any race, anytime! If you set a bike up like that you gotta take the consequences of it even if the events that got you there aren't your fault?

Everything is a compromise of some sort. The thing being...Lorenzo has that #1 plate for a very good reason. Think it'll be him and Stoner going at it all season. So it'll take Stoner a while to get the lost points back if Lorenzo is as consistent as he was last year. But...as they say...that's racing.

I can totally understand why he was taking big risks... he's 'injured' (ah huh), he's desperate to taste victory again, his bike is a piece of shite, he mocked other riders for not being able to ride said bike hard, it was wet which is a great equaliser for the aforementioned problems, and Lorenzo messed up his head last year.

Dry race next time, normal service will resume (i.e. Rossi will be too far behind those that matter to mess their shit up).

It's funny eh! They (Moto GP bikes) are only 153kgs? Yet a lot of the riders seem to struggle to pick 'em up! They're fit tough wee fellas...so I don't know what the issue is. Sheeesh...I had to pick up 240kgs of 883 on a semi regular basis...and I never had trouble with it.

Shit that was a good race to watch!

I think the move Rossi put on Stoner was a bit rough, and in this *instance* his ambition clearly outshone his ability on the bike.
However, I think that some credit has to be given to the guy in that the Ducati is known to have a shit house front end and it is a bit unusual for Rossi to fail in that sort of style. Like him or hate him, the guy has shown a brilliant ability to ride in the past. Last season and start of this one has been a hurdle for him though.

I think in general that his ambition does not go beyond his ability, when it comes to machine development Rossi is as good as it gets, if he can work with the engineers to get that front end stable, then he is going to be giving Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo the competition that we came to expect from Rossi.
Stoner has been amazingly fast of late, that riding at Qatar was superb.
Simoncelli...where did that come from fella? next time keep in on the track, would have loved to see him on the podium.
Still backing Rossi, I hope he can pull it back together for just one more season. He will need to start thinking about retirement soon enough.
