Poor bloke. No mention of the car. White Valiant seems unlikely though.

Thankfully it didnt end in tragedy, unlike that poor woman out at Mission bay. When the fuck are people going to start looking before they open their doors.
I remember a similar thing happening to me. I was on the motorcycle, filtering up between a line of stopped traffic on my right and parked cars on my left. I was turning left at the lights so, I wasnt doing anything illegal. Courier driver throws open his van door and I manage to stop in time. He yells at me... "Almost took you out there mate" Like I was the one in the wrong!!

Nothing mentioned in the Herald story about charges or a ticket for the offending driver. I hope they stick it to him.

The conditions weren't great. I think it had just been raining. And the road was shining like a sheet metal plate.

You have an onus on yourself to check any parked cars for occupants.

Even courier vans with limit visibilty inside them have wing mirrors giving plenty of warning of the presence of a driver.

Yep. You are quite right! and that's why I was able to stop safely. You have to anticipate that possibility when you put yourself in that situation. It was his blazzay attitude that irked me the most.

    So you scored 100.

    Why saddle yourself with bitterness?
