    New jacket inner lining?

Has anyone ever tried to buy a new zip out liner for their jacket? I have one that has a buggared zip. The liner is fine, but I cant see it possible to sew in a new zip.

    Any suggestions?

Next time you're through in the Big Smoke, go and see Kerrie at Motorcycle Safety Wear in K' Road - she can work wonders with that sort of thing.

I would be supprised if there isn't a seamstress/tailor in Te Awamutu that could replac a zip ... shouldn't cost much either ...

My wife had suggested, a zip that length could cost up to $50. But you are right certainly worth getting it checked out.

probably looking at about 70-100 all up to replace the zip. depends on which part of the zip has given up. A new liner will cost way more and will have to be custom made.

I do these quite a lot and are not usually much of a challenge. Most jackets require the bottom seam to be undone, turn it inside out, do the zip, and then sew up the bottom again. Fiddly rather than challenging.

Dont bother taking it to a tailor, they wont have the machines to do the leather, try an upholsterer or canvas worker

It is the sliding zipper itself thats come unstuck. On this jacket it was attached to the half thats sewn into the jacket. Otherwise, I would buy another zip and get one half sewn onto the lining.

All else failing, will be simpler to just wear a jersey underneath.
