How did you manage that?? Have fun in Nelson
I swapped out my coil for a new one and the new one has reduced the spark to next to nothing. If my bike starts, it just floods itself whenever I reach 1/4 throttle.

Don't worry, put the old coil back in and rode the bike to Nelson and back no worries at all. I even bought a new bike while I was in Nelson, just have to get it back down here now

Check whether it's a 6 volt or 12 volt coil, if it's a 12volty running on 6 volts it could explain the lack of spark.

    It sure is

How do I check what voltage it is? My bike runs 12v. Unless there is some kind of converter in there somewhere changing it to 6v before it gets to the coil.

If your bike has a 12volt battery I would assume your coil to be 12volt also

Is there some way to check whether the coil is working properly? All I have is a multimeter though lol

All you can really do is check the resistance, which maybe doesn't tell you much as they are pretty low anyway so an internal short often won't be obvious.

Easy enough to check the voltage to the coil, just stick your multimeter across it with the bike running.

Might pay to be careful putting a multimeter accross an active coil, all sorts of voltage spikes could happen.
