Sorry folks I'm out this week, not feeling well.
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Hmmn, this sounds rather inauspicious.. Still, I'll head down to BK at 11, and see if anyone else decides to show up.

Hmmn, I guess that'd be a no, which is a pity - it's a great day for it.

If it's a nice day, and you're not doing the brass, keen for a ride this weekend? Maybe the Sat?

Yeah man, sounds good, and so far the forecast for Saturday is looking good... Meet at BK?.. I have to run an errand around 10, so would meeting at 11:30 to leave at 12 suit?

Incidentally, if we do go for a ride, you mind if I borrow your chest mount harness for the gopro for 5-10min?.. I was considering getting one, but I want to see if it'll fit a fat bastard like myself, and what the angle is like on my bike.

Well, if it's a nice clear day and if people felt like a wee bit more dirt, could do above Little River on the other side of Lake Forsyth Here

We can get to it by going over the beach at Birldings flat or via Little River itself.

Could be some great scenery if it's a nice day and not blowing a gale ...

I am vanning down in Gearldiene for Saturday night but I say the only bikes that will get across to Bossu Rd from Birdlings Flat by the beach need to be light and well knobblied in the tyre department to avoid a lot of pushing and pulling.
You should stop the group there while you take the DR350 across and back for a laugh (and it may well make it ok if you can keep the momentum up enough not to sink up to your axels in stones) and then everyone can head over via Little river.

    It's a shame you'll be away.
I kinda remember that beach, I wasn't going to tell the road bikers about the stones until we got there
I was really, just thought it could be fun for any off roaders or gung ho roadies ...

I've been quite keen to see the roads up the top of that hill for a while now, want to explore my back yard a bit more

You don't have to go across from Birdlings Flat, you can also turn right just as you get in to Little River and take Kinloch rd to get up there - a few of us went up that way back in February, although we took Jubilee rd down into Wainui, rather than continuing straight along Bossu, which was a mistake, as Jubilee is extremely steep, and although continuing along Bossu there is also a rather steep section, it's on the way up rather than down.

I took care of that errand today, so I can do any time on Saturday, so we can do meet at 11, leave at 11:30 like we normally do on Sunday rides, or whatever suits everyone best.

I got my very light V8 landrover with big tires across there one day, can't say I would ever want to do it again.

Sounds good to me! If you're meeting in town, let me know which way you'll go and I'll meet you either at Gov Bay or the Blue Duck, depending on which way you're heading out.

Still have a weeks warrant on the DR, better make use of it!
