OK still scanning all my old slides. Shame I didn't buy a decent camera until 1980, but here's a shot of Wanganui cemetery circuit December 1974 in the Marlboro series days. Note how there were no fences or anything keeping the crowd back. Nothing was PC then, you did what you liked. Can't recognise any of the riders from the pic, but back then was when Pat Hennan started doing all the winning beating the likes of Dale Wylie.

Where abouts on hte circuit was that picture from ,,the same start line as this year??

Up unto a year or so ago Dale was still active with bikes he got into trials riding for a bit but I haven't seen him for about a year now
