Bullying to become a crime in Australia

I like the sound of having such legislation. Too many people are bullied to the point of suicide.

On the flip side, I can not imagine how they could draft such legislation to prevent it from being abused.

I agree. A point on electronic bullying, There is hardly a poster on KB that hasn't been hit with a barrage of stinging criticisim. Does that amount to be bullied? I doubt it.

At the end of the day, nobody has to read or answer a text, enter a chat room or log into a forum.
It's sad to read of accounts of teenagers committing suicide because of being abused, by on line comments, texting etc. A shame they cant stand by their own convictions and beliefs/ values instead of 'having to be accepted' by their peers.

Yes, they'll have to introduce IQ tests that people will have to pass before joining there forums.

Half the workforce would be inside ( actually half of em are already )

Most of management , would be on their way to pokey

An amendment to stalking law is proposed with sentences up to 10 years.

I think they ARE trying to change a culture...

We would be as successful as Japan if NZ'ers had the same respect for others that Japanese do....
