    Some people are just stupid! I always assume that a small kid is with a parent, and then if I am wrong and it is the grandparent, I haven't insulted anyone.
    I had someone pass a comment when I was out with my step son - they thought he was my boyfriend (he looks much older than he is) gross!

    Smart thinking! Mind you, the bit about your stepson is really a compliment to you, isn't it?

    My wife often gets mistaken for the girls' sister when they out together, and when she picked up our Grandson from school the other week she was mistaken for his Mum! I picked him up yesterday and his relieving teacher told him, "Your Dad's here!" Whne I corrected her she looked shocked and said, "You're not old enough!"
