theres a good chance they will come back rather quickly... like a day or so maybe a week so keep yoour eye out..... I had a crt that had fallen off a cabinet that i got my hands on and was doing the same thing un plugging it or a magnet could change it for a while but not long term.... ( i think it was an internal speaker causing the issue) Oh and remember insurance is your friend I had a 34" sony that my wife toped up a plant that was on a shelf above it and well boom they tried to repair but couldnt get parts so a new 37" came my way paid the differnce and got a 40"...

Note: A repair man can tell the differnce between water poured onto your tv and water from a pot plant the pot plant water is usually a bit dirtier and has more elecrolites or somthing so does more damage and if this accidently happens when the Tv is on and plugged it will fry it if not pugeed in or on a wet tv can still work when dried out.

my 4 yo 50 inch samsung plasma lost its picture last week and as i was helping the repair dude load it in his van i arxed him what brand was most reliable, he said that he had 1 of every brand in the van then so they were all much the same reliabilaty wise. Hardley Normals have a big sale on at the moment, i could buy my set new now for $1500

I haven't worked in the electrical applicances sector, but I have done financials for other large companies, and from what I've seen this is common practice, FWIW.

/edit: Went through the TV thing recently, plumped for a Samsung 7 series 46" in the end. To my eye, the only thing that topped it was (IIRC) a Panasonic 66" Plasma bad arse mofo of a thing costing twice the price. Only regret is I didn't get the 50" (7 series) because I thought my room wasn't really big enough. Tripe. Complete and utter bollocks. Nobody ever died thinking I wish I got the smaller TV, 1080p has well sorted that out. Only bad side effect is that I don't bother with DVDs or most movie downloads any more... blurays are well worth the money (mind you unless I have a hard on for something in particular I only buy em on the cheap). Inception on bluray at 100" was some kind of awesome.

    Hmmm, interesting connundrum this....

I myself no nothing about TV's but my best mate Dave knows them inside out, he is a TV technician.

As a side issue, I was Dave's best man at his wedding. He married the daughter of the man that owned the TV aerial company he worked for. The service was long and boring but they had a great reception.........
