Shirriffs and Jimmy smith ran off and crashed after the chequered flag at hampton downs a year ago, then Shirriffs run over his own foot at manfeild last weekend.

I was spectating at a wet meeting at Manfeild in the late 70's and some dude on a Triumph Bonneville won a race and as he crossed the line stood up on the pegs and did a couple of victory bounces (no power wheelies in those days) - Of course that induced a spectacular "tank slapper" and he crashed in the huge puddle that always accumulated along where the pit wall is now. As he pushed his bike back up pit lane he got a tremendous round of applause which he acknowledged with a bow.

I remember seeing a GP race from way back when Croz was racing. A guy (I'm sure it was a Kiwi) won his first ever GP race. He got so excited he kind of forgot about the bike, crashed, then ran about waving his arms.

Sloan frost did a wheelie at Wanganui and his steering damper came loose and locked the steering full left. He would have felt pretty silly before he even put the front wheel back down.

My most embarrasing crash was as I was leaving the pits at the TT, I pulled away from the line, I went over the top of a water STEEL Man hole cover, promptly went side ways then highsided HONDA Fctory mechanics and other factory staff were write there to witness it all

The shortest distance crash from the start line in the History of the TT

I am indeed getting old, but my lap times are still improving. I calculate that at the current rate I will be doing 1;09's round the minefield by the time I am about, oh 106 or 107
