You must have been around the wrong sorts of dogs.

Animals certainly beat us in the pain tolerance stakes.

Every day I take my rotti-x bitch to the park and every day she goes thru a barbed wire fence into the bush to do a bit of hunting and every day I think its a miracle that she doesn't scrag herself on the barbs.
It finally happened but we were nearly back at the car by the time I realised cos she just carried on like normal...then as she was walking towards me I noticed something strange about her chest.
She had a huge hole and there was this big gob of flesh hanging out of. I pushed the flesh back in (yuck it really was a big hole) and she thought I was giving her a tummy rub!
It healed sweetas and she was completely oblivious to the fact that she had even injured herself!

    Bless.

    Animals rock!

Lies! You don't ride your motorcycle and why does your gash burp so much?

This is KB isn't it..... Ok ok, so I over exaggerated in my post, and pretended to be something I am not, making myself out to be more awesome than I am - I don't cook, clean and do the washing, and I can barely ride a motorcycle

    Cats are staunch

Just took ours to the vet because her eye didn't look good.

Vet said if a dog had the same injury it would most likely have died from it by now. Claw right through her eye into some sack of fluid that is now leaking.
3 grand to operate on her. Can't afford that so we are trying a medical approach.
Preparing the kids for the Worst Case Scenario.

Eye drops 4 times a day and some goop twice a day - 4 different medicines. I am going to be scratched to hell trying to administer these! That is already 300 hundy plus what ever follow up visits might cost.

Still - she is a tough little bugger. I hope she pulls through.

Yep our one only started to act funny after it almost died from septicemia because of the 120mm long bite wound from a dog. Its so fluffy we didnt know as it never likes to be patted much and the fur had matted over it. Almost vommed when the vet opened his "christmas present". The smell was worse than the sight.

Had to pat a shaved pussy for the next couple of weeks...

Got my fingers crossed for ya... Poor thing.

I've got a puffytat I luff as much as the dogs and fortunately she has never given me any grief and if she ever did...well she would have to tuff it out cos there is no way I would ever be able to get her into a cage to take her to the vets!

Both my dogs have titanium knees at $4gs a pop. I'm paying it off...and it was money well spent, my Rotti-x is nearly 13 now and she is still running around chasing rabbits and possums, and occasionally catching them!

    Thanks BB,

She has caught a couple of mice since her accident, so I am hopeful. The eye looks to be clearing up. As the OP said, the cats are tough animals. And she puts up a great fight over the eye drops LOL.
