    Rego identification

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me out finding details from a registration number.

Yesterday at Kirkwood Intermediate School there was a Korean event. I was in charge of parking and someone deliberately rammed through a chain barrier (which was blocking the access to the rear school field). I have the registration but couldn't identify the driver.

Carjam ain't used to be. If someone can help me identify the owner of the vehicle (preferly an address too so that we (Korean Society of Christchurch) can send him a letter) it'll be really great.

PM me please if you can help.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The vehicle's registration number is ZZ2959. It should be a Honda Prelude 1990-95 model in colour red.

Watch your tone. I never said I'm going to be a hero. I wanted to help the community that's all.

Unless of course you have TC L1 basic or higher.

TC gives you some powers in these situations,as long as you have your warrant card with you.

I'm interested to know what powers a TC would have.

    Traffic control

Says it all really if it is a legal event and you are the one with the TMP.

You used to be able to go to a post office ... pay $9.50 (or thereabouts) and get the "home" address of a rego plate ...

What you going to do though, arrest them? The best a TC can do is record the details and tell the Police, as has been suggested to the OP.
