    GSXR250 help - bogging out

Hi guys more problems for my little gsxr250 just when i think all is well....
Well the bike is starting great and seems to run fine and High revs it ldles fine but sometimes it will bog down when i go to take off, cant hill start on it if iam lucky to get it moving i would be at slower than walking speed no matter where the throttle is.
Probably is worse when its warm. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

If it revs - worn clutch come to mind.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

Have only recently replaced the clutch plates and the feel the old clutch plates gave was very different when its 'Bogging' it wont rev at all but will still idle if no accelerator used.

Sounds like too much fuel at low rev... idle air screw possibly.

    or

stuck choke or worn choke seals (assuming its not air restrictor but fuel richening type)

    or

    fouled up spark plugs?

you don't use your choke to start it when its not snowing do you?

first start of the day iam always using choke after that dont really need it for the rest of the day... Just put new plugs in yesterday with no change Just been playing with it and if i spray start ya bastard on the rubber inlet hoses (between carbs and engine) there is a very slight increase in revs . Could this be causeing my problem?

next time you start it don't use choke, have gears on ready and go ride straight away without letting the revs drop too low like under 6000rpm. Just see how that goes for ya.

yep, still thinking too much fuel...

may pay to check ignition leads are on good.
sometimes the leads are straight wires (not inductive leads like cars) at the socket they have a current limiting resistor and sometimes they need a clean up, or they loose or the socket isn't screwed onto the lead properly.

A good old thrashing would sort out an overfueling problem

I had the same problem with my 250 bandit, had the carbs cleaned and balanced.

    Problem gone.

That "feel" was the clutch slip(ing) ... it is a 250 ... so ride it like a 250.

They need the rev's to get the power ... under 6000 RPM ... it wont have the horsepower (or torque) it needs to get you going properly.

I imagine it rev's out to about 18,000 RPM (correct me if I'm wrong... often am)

6000 RPM is bugger all in the great scheme of things ... 250 wise anyway ...

yeah the idle is reasonably smooth. have recently replaced the 'carb boots' with other second hand ones and the feel is quite similar to what was going on then only much worse last time... any idea on what i can use to seal them up better?

    Haha.
I too have this problem, but to get around it, i just rev it a bit more before i drop the clutch.
Would be interesting to know how to fix it.
