    Talking Mom's Easter Weekend Adventure

I know it is early, but my Easter weekend break starts when the sun rises in the morning. I am very excited This is my first weekend away on my lovely new bike. I already have two thousand odd, "get used to her" k's on the metre, some fooling around, and most commuting to my fantastic job (no sarcasm either).

Millie is gassed up, the trip metre is set to zero. The cat is in care. I have a LARGE Ventura pack to load up with essentials, I bought my own pack, that way I can find room for the lippy AND the hairdrier

    I can't wait!

It's nice to see somebody else madly and passionately aroused by a Suzuki inline four.

There are times when the destination is of NO importance ... going somewhere ... anywhere ... is good.

I've found the webbing only helps when you're (I'm) swimming ... and if I'm supposed to be ON the bike ... I just hope swimming will not be required ...

OH ... have fun Mom ....

I reckon he only did it so he can fit his new undies in "his" pack.

    Home

What a fantastic trip! One that I most definately will be repeating again soon.

Left home about 8:30am Thursday and had possibly the most effortless, traffic-less trip through the shitty I have ever had. No traffic to speak of at all. Stopped at Mercer for breakfast.

I learned there that having a cup of coffee can become one of the funniest things you can do When the really friggen hot coffee made contact with my lip I jumped, squeezing the paper cup at the same time, causing a veritable Ruapehu erruption of coffee up my nose Not sure if the tears were from laughing or scalding the lining of my nostrills really. Made a hell of a mess on the table I know that.

Having regathered ourselves, we headed out south to Rangiruri, and turned off to enjoy the back roads down the country. We stopped in Piopio for lunch. The left hand mirror on Mille was loose and kept turning in so I went to King Country Honda to see if the mechanics might have a socket to tighten it. I had asked the Sulco Tool Man at Otorohanga if he had one when we had a Pitt Stop for Maha ( I swear that mans bladder only holds a teaspoon of piss at a time ) and he had nothing.

After a few "sweet's" and "true's" the very lovely man there actually turned down one of his sockets so it fit in the mirror stem and tightened the nut for me! What a top bloke. Big Rpas for them from me. The toasted sandwhich we had from accross the road was very yummy too

We continued down through the Awakino Gorge. That has to be the most orgasmic road I have ever ridden on The fun I was having made me laugh out loud many times. I found myself going around one long, continuous, sweeping right hander, under the paint and rolling on more and more throttle, going WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

The rolling twisties were just the bomb for this girl Millie appears to love corners, and most loves the ones that are marked 35/45 kph. We were headign to Pussy's house for the night but formulated a plan to stop in and hug Martybabe on the way. After over shooting his turnoff, we turned back and arrived at chez MB in grand styles. Just as well really, cos the way I left was not so grand

This provided us with the first of many "yeah right" moments of the weekend.

I forgot to mention Mt Messanger. Now that has some cool corners They have laid ashphalt on the southern side and thqat makes for some very nice smooth riding. There were a few road works to be negotiated up there - slips beign sorted etc, but not a bad bit of road all the same.
