    The Sky Thing

A puzzling moment as we entered the Naki region on the way down...
I saw a lot of vapour trails in the sky....there seemed to be about 6-7 all at different angles.
You may see one up this way (or anywhere else for that matter) from time to time but to see so many at once was surreal, so much so that I thought for a moment that once we stopped someone would say something about meteors.
Next morning, same thing, walked outside with a coffee and there were even more than the day before. Early morning Sky traffic?
Just another daily occurrance over the skies of western NZ.

Which brings me to my next point...
Why isn't it the West Cape?
We have North and East Cape...
Cape Egmont maybe, but it should be renamed West Cape.

I know all the flights between Aukland and Taranaki fly just off the west coast and the same line would take you to Wellington and Christchurch, almost, so I guess a great deal of the North south air Traffic between major cities wazzes over Taranaki, in sight of Cape Egmont (something else you'll have to see next time.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line ... Auckland - Wellington -Christchurch ... The trails will be at different altitudes too ...

Yup she's a good road but if the mountain doesn't come out to play (like when we were in the vicinity) it's just a tall white building, Mountain sun and lighthouse = one of the best views in NZ I reckon.

Jeeze Mark you were lucky with the weather, it's gone all evil down this way since yous two buggered off.

I know, we just saw some of it on the box. Not that pretty up here, a tree blew down some power lines south of town last night, they were still clearing it when I went to work this morning. Rain, lashings of wind and a sky down to the ground.

How about that truck getting blown over? I know it was windy down there but that is a bit OTT

We leave and take a look at his very lovely bike and Maha calls him out. Yes, it IS Slowfox Wag the chin a bit and he has to head home to pack boxes!
Quite made my day meeting these two - I just knew I'd run into them one day!

Well, I have finally found the time to stop and clean my poor Millie. She was so bug splattered and road sploodged it was embarrasing to say she is my pride and joy She cleans up a treat, even went out and bought special cleaning aparatuses/aparati, including a chamois

I also finally rounded up all the fuel dockets, this little hunny averages just over 22 kms per litre of fuel. What an economical ride Best of all with the 20L tank I have such a good range now, the Radian SUCKED

The commute uses more funnily enough.
