I only get 10,000km out of Pirelli Sport Demons, guess they're only $300 for the set and the bike has no grip issues due to its minimal torque output.
An update. The set of PR3T have done 5000km in the pictures attached. The rear did start off brand new looking a little flat through the middle, but now you can feel it getting flat in the middle. Performance has been very good, and even took some prodding before letting go in the pissing rain in the Forgotten Highway during the Capital Cruise. Mileage has been almost exclusively sealed roads.
Overall quite happy, but it doesn't look like it will last a long time. Only disadvantage (and not surprising) is that the BMW is now pretty much a road bike on gravel, so that would probably be the only reason for switching to something else, to give me a bit more dual purpose ability. That said, it's my tyre of choice for lots of road km.
Will update when I've added some more mileage.

Thanks for that Gremlin - great to share experiences. I've just photographed mine at a pretty much identical distance for comparison. They've retained their profile exceptionally well, although as I live on the Coromandel Peninsula, that might well help the profile with a bit of wear on the sides too! The other factors are that the Street Triple has reasonably aggressive steering geometry and combined with weighing only 167 kg, dry, that's bound to help a bit in terms of life.
I find them a superb all-round tyre, especially in the wet and like you; found them good in the mud down the Forgotten Highway 2 weekends ago. They feel a little slower to tip in than the Avon Storm Ultras which have a similar profile to their VP2 sport tyres but the difference isn't huge. Based on experience so far, I'll definitely buy another pair.
A 5,000km comparison eh? I'm in. The front is looking pretty good though I reckon it feels a bit more vague (to me anyway) than a PR2 - no issues with it's grip though. I think that the rear is possibly a bit softer on the sides than a 2 - you can see that a bit in the wear (got given some stick at the GC scrutineering - ooh someone's been playing). So far I'm liking them so lets just see if they go another 7k (usually get around 12k from a 2)...

Just done a few thousand clicks in the past few days, so it's about time to add my pics to this mix...
This set has now reached just over 10000 kms and while there's a small flat spot, the profile is still sweet to ride on. The mix has been about 25% commuting and 75% touring, all one up with light luggage. It helps that my bike doesn't even have 100hp and I don't push too hard....
9200ks from my first PR3 rear and still have another 2000ks left in it at least I put a new rear on last week and have spent the last 29 hours scrubbing it in in the south island 480ks yesterday in the wet and 890ks today in the dry its been O for Orsum

Certainly done well there Barry, I have just ordered a set of T30's ($550 fitted) to replace to current 021's after 14,000 kms.
