    Interesting project.

    Suggestions:

    Wheels - paint them black.

Throw away the side covers and fashion up some much smaller alloy ones - they will need a suitable racing number on them.

I'd slice off most of the rear subframe rear of the shock mount (weld in a suitable cross brace to retain stiffness).

    Suitable cafe seat - linky : http://justfairings.co.nz/cms1/index...ort=20a&page=2

    or

    http://houseofcustom.co.nz/xtcommerc...dcde7lnaieuti3

You'll need to make up some solo rearsets.

Suitable rowdy reverse cone mufflers too maybe wrap some of that heat material around the headers.

Paint - black with a silver tank stripe or british racing green with a gold or white stripe.

    Darn, now I want one.

nah sorry...just off the net http://www.299kmh.com/uploads/honda/...e-racer-02.jpg

I had a CB250N back in 1987 so this thread caught my attention.
    They're a great wee bulletproof motor,..as a brutal 17 year old boy-racer I think I saw 13,000rpm on mine once......

The side covers are CM/CB400/250T, the budget model-Type 1- of which had spokes/drum brakes front and rear(was not available here), series. Like the ones below:

The tank is a standard 400/250T item with knee scollaps. Quite well done really. If you are after a tank PM Gibbo13 he still may have the one I gave him a few years ago. Seat's, well pan anyway, is probably an off the shelf after market item I'd imagine. For what it's worth I owned a brand new CB400T in 1979. Basicly the motor evolved into the 450 which was in the Rebels sold here and may well slot right into the frame if the 400 shits itself.

    Here's a TM link to a seat pan: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-371085814.htm

Those covers look like they'd go on without too much trouble at all, great - thanks!! Think I'll stick with the original tank though as it will tell where the bikes' come from.

Hopefully the 400 won't shit itself though! It was purring pretty sweetly so should be okay (unless I bugger something up pulling it apart or putting it back together).
