Those filters look pretty good - are the foam ones okay to use on a bike (without putting the air box back on that is - was hoping to leave it off)? You're probably right about the seat - I'll contact a few local auto upholsterers.

Not planning to leave it in bits so my apologies in advance to all those looking for cheap parts!

did you do this yourself? I'm assuming you could buy soda pellets and use a sandblasting attachment? looks good!!

Just borrowed a mates soda blast gun (although they're pretty cheap to buy I guess, just an air gun with a hose attached), got a 25kg bag of baking soda from Bulk Barn in New Lynn ($45), stuck it all on the compressor and had a party. It can get pretty messy with all that powder floating around so it has to be done outside but the good thing is that baking soda is water soluble so you just have to hose down to clean up.

I think it's best to soda blast an engine/carbs rather than sand or bead blast. It doesn't produce quite as good a result but at least if the media gets inside any place you don't want it, it'll disolve whereas sand or glass beads would cause serious damage.

    Breather Hose to Airbox Question

I'm sure this'll sound like a stupid question but, here goes......

I am getting rid of the big airbox on the CB and just planning to run with a couple of pod filters. What should I do with the breather tube that runs from the rocker cover to the airbox? Is it okay just to run it down the side of the frame or something?

The breather tube is designed to suck oil fumes and the like into the engine and burn them, so ideally you should have a catch can, or maybe one with some foam in it, so that in the event any actual oil gets blurted out it doesn't spray over you, the bike, or (heaven forbid!) your rear tyre. JMHO, of course...
Mebbe domeone who races will come along, but I have a feeling some sorta catching device for the oil breather is compulsory for this reason....?
Oh - and there aren't really many truly silly questions, just silly answers.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

you can buy little filters that fit over the rocker cover breather tube, http://www.hordpower.com/index.php?m...6fac8d93ddd4ad
I got one of those when I upgraded to uni-pods

    Another stupid question

Alright, I got some turn signals out of the US (see below)

    http://www.caferace.com/Merchant2/me...gory_Code=RRBT

They have two wires coming out of them which is what I'd expect, the wiring diagram for the bike shows two as well, however when I look at the existing turn signals on the bike they only have one wire. Does this mean I just have to earth a wire from the indicator?
