    New licencing system needed

The following is the driver profile hierarchy from worst to best, i was stuck behind a WOMEN (asian/indian) driver with added danger factor (oldness) that was going 30 in a 50 zone with right hand wheel on the centerline with ocasional drift to left had white line then back to center. Its just not good enough, people lives are at risk.

    WOMEN (asian/indian)
    WOMEN (islander/maori)
    MEN (asian/indian)
    MEN (islander/maori)
    WOMEN (caucasian)
    MEN (caucasian)

haha i feel for you man, have you heard of the driving diseases which are becoming an epidemic?
Brake-itis, where people have a mental reaction that means the brake pedal is applied at the slightest hint of a downhill slope or a corner, yes even up hill long corners where speed is already decreasing.

there are many more that will be covered extensively in the thesis i am writing on NZ drivers

Interesting, I have some friends over here from Bangkok at the moment and they have a rental for a couple of weeks. They are Thai people and when we were over there they drove us round Bangkok and I was amazed at how courteous everyone was on the roads, and bangkok is a very big and busy town. Well anyway they are frightened driving in new Zealand, and the main reason is because of the aggressive and uncooperative nature of kiwi drivers. Bloody interesting hearing an Asian drivers perspective.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

*555 them or ring 111 and say you suspect they're drunk due to their erratic driving and inability to stay within their lane

30 in a 50. How come you couldn't overtake and leave her to her madness ?

Crash stats say different, 15y - 25y Males (I'm guessing this means you) are the worst.

That has always been the case.
In fairness, though, it must be pointed out that a crash is not necessary to prove poor driving skills...

If this fellow had done something stupid (due to frustration) and crashed, say, that would make him a poor driver. But the cause of that frustration sailed merrily on, without coming to the attention of the stats. In fact, she would probably have had her driving 'skills' confirmed to her as being excellent (she wasn't the one who crashed, eh?).
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I think the above comment about the Thai drivers sums it up.

Because things are much busier in asia - the chaos means every driver expects anything at any time and doesn't get pissed off. Indian drivers honk their horns a lot as a "I am here" / awareness signal - not as Kiwis / Aussies use it as a "I'm pissed off" signal.

I find asian drivers frustrating too. But I have to accept it's not a capability thing, but a way it works in their country thing which is not the same as NZ.

Put it this way - I'd be a fish out of water and people would probably shake their heads at my driving in an asian country.
