    Interesting, but tragic.

In the accident in which a Lions supporter driving a campervan crossed the centreline, hitting and killing a young girl, he'd nearly hit an HP car. The cop managed to avoid him and he hit the car behind the cop.
Just shows the value of constant awarness, any vehicle, at any time, could do the same to you.

tis a very sad story. Shame too, cos she's an attractive girl, terrible waste.
On the upside, because of her tradgic accident, seven people were able to go on living thru her organs being donated.

I saw the thing on the news, and in the face of the grief, shock and loss I was happy to see everyone involved being adult about it.

The that did wrong said so... and was genuinely remorseful.

The family of the girl who died were in shock, but also willing to understand what happened and work through it. Very unusual to see either side reacting like that... they both did!

Huge QDOS to all involved, I feel for them all and I think it's one in the cap for the Lions supporters here too.

I don't think I would have been as understanding as her parents.
    It was totally avoidable.

It was - but I've been there myself. Flying into the UK or elsewhere, having had very little sleep then having a long drive to face upon arrival. It's nto a wise thing to do, and thankfully I've never had an accident when driving after such a long flight. But thousands, if not tens of thousands of people do a similar thing every day.

    Such a tragic shame.

Exactly, it pisses me off when people call things like this just a tragic 'accident', cos it was anything but.

An accident might have been a tire blowing out or a bird smashing into the windscreen.

Its sheer stupidity to drive in such circumstances after a long flight when you know you are not fit to drive. Its like driving drunk.

On that note, how many of you have the 'donate organs' bit specified on your drivers licenses?

I personally do, but I think that the some religous types would have a hard time donating organs. I guess it depends on their view of the nature of the afterlife and connection between body and spirit.

Apparently it quite meaningless to do so, they still have to get next of kin authority to harvest organs. I suppose it does give your feelings on the issue when you're breathing your last.
