Lol man wikipedia is out of whack.

    They reckon: 13 l (2.9 imp gal; 3.4 US gal) Fuel tank and 40.0 km/L (113 mpg-imp; 94 mpg-US)[.

Thats 520 kms per tank isn't it?

    That's rubbish haha
I rode an MC22 down from Auckland to a bit south of Palmy a few years ago and from memory managed 220-240 per tank, a lot more when I was on the desert road and Vinegar hill (Shit they are brilliant fun!!!!)

Nice bike choice . You should look at getting an after-market exhaust.

I prefer the older shape of fxgt, but any hatch with a 4age is awesome - this was mine:

Hey man, Yeah great little cars.

I ended up getting some off TM last week.

Thanks for the thought anyway. In hindsight it wouldve been cheaper off ebay. But you live and learn lol

    Thought i might update this.

During the uni holidays i rode the bike to dads and we went over it checking general maintenance stuff. Oil, plugs and airfilter all seem almost brand new. We took the chain off and soaked it over night and gave it a good scrub. Sprockets seem in pretty good nick.

When we pulled the tank off i noticed the previous owner has done some sort of airbox mod. They have cut 3 holes in the top of the airbox about 6cm in diameter, but then taped them over with duct tape. Is this just for extra noise? Any benefits if i take the tape off?

Then i sanded and repainted the screen bracket and replaced some bolts around the place.

    Anyway here are some pics,

    Nice wee CBR!
Don't take the duct tape off, buy a new airbox if you can. Cutting holes in it is a dumb idea, do you think, if it made it go better, that Honda would do it? If Honda didn't do it, why bother?
It'll affect how your slides lift, your fuelling, you're probably by passing the filter like that also, it will need to be re-jetted and will lose power.

The holes are above the filter so if the tape was off the air would still be filtered. But the holes just open up onto the foam on the underside of the tank. So i dunno why they did it.

    Weird.

Didn't get a photo at the time.

I'm not that worried. Its taped up so no air gets through. And it seems to run okay.
I was just wondering if this was a common thing.

Yeah, I think duct tape is the most common thing...

Leave the tape there. It'll sound awesome if you run individual pods and re-jet it without the airbox though. You'll lose the tiny amount of torque it has sadly, but when they're on song they sound mad.
